History

The teardrop camper dates back to the forties and fifties, depression and post depression era.
Many people had to travel to find jobs or did not have a home so used these little campers as their home.
They were and are fairly easy and simple to build.
Today there are a few companies that build these commercially but most are created and built by individuals, some simple, some very elaborate.
I first became interested in the teardrop while I was surfing the net looking for a small camper.
The more I browsed the net, seeing all the variations of this cute little camper, the more I became intrigued.
After two years of dreaming, I set out on a quest to build one.
My son Eric had a pop-up camper that was no longer usable so, with the help of my wife Becky, and granddaughter Skylar, we set out to tear it apart.
Having achieved that and now having the trailer needed to build the camper, I again returned to the Internet for ideas.
I arrived at a basic idea and set out to construct a mock-up. Eric, my son, began to get interested and had some ideas to add to the process.
From that point on it was a project in the making, an idea that took on it's own identity.
